I’ll skip the odd/startling start this once (that’s my fav part though) and tell you that if you’re an F1 enthusiast then please stop reading this right now. NOW!!

Okay, so where was I? Ya F1….hey no cheating, I told you not to read it sir. Okay fine, go on!

So how long do you think F1 will last? Or how long Should it last? An F1 car normally consumes 75 liters of fuel per 100 kms. Or 4 miles per gallon at best. In short, you and I can’t afford that in like 7 lifetimes.
An average F1 team spends about $200 million every year as operational costs. That is excluding the cost of setting up a team (professionals/engineers/drivers/managers).

For what, I ask?
For a beast of a car to run round and round and round and round and round (okay, I guess you got my point, but its fun!) and round and round…..the same track for over 2 hours. Burning a lot of fuel and creating a hell lot of noise pollution in the process. I used to watch this sport when the whole Narain Karthikeyan joining F1 thing happened. But it was always forced fake excitement for me. It takes a lot of skill I’m sure to control those beasts, but at what cost are we enjoying this whole round and round and round and round…..you know! Better sense prevailed two years back and teams started realizing what a waste an F1 venture is. Teams like Honda sensationally pulled out. There were spying allegations. And for once this so called “sport” was in danger of being shut down. But hey, when Mosley and Ecclestone are here, have no fear. Enter Mallaya too…and F1 is right up there again.

Ya, have fun while you waste my fuel mr driver!!

Time to stop, people. I’m sick of seeing these multi millionaires drain money and fuel down the drain so they get their idea of entertainment fulfilled!
And if F1 still continues, then the governments/NGOs/U.N should stop putting out those awareness ads asking us to do all sorts of things to save a few drops of fuel. For what should I switch my engine and off at a traffic signal and sit in heat without the A.C? So those big shots can run their fuel eating babies? HELL NO!!!!
