Animation is one genre which if explored to its fullest can win the hearts of people of all ages. Hotel Transylvania is an addition to this genre and the movie is capable of the above mentioned. The movie is one of those cute and likeable animated movies that keep you engaged through its story, visuals, characters and humor.
Hotel Transylvania is a story based on the hotel owned and run by Dracula (Adam Sandler). Dracula wants to protect his daughter Mavis (Selena Gomez) and other monsters from human intervention. All is well at the hotel until one fine evening when a human Jonathan (Adam Samberg) shows up right before a big occasion/party at the hotel.
The character of Dracula voiced by Adam Sandler is undoubtedly his only work that is noticeable out of the performances that he has delivered in the recent times. Mavis voiced by Selena Gomez is largely responsible for the cute factor of the movie. The movie also features eminent monsters like Frankenstein, Mummy, Wolf Man and Big Foot.
The story is clichéd but the treatment is brilliant and one would expect that from Genndy Tartakovsky, the director of Dexter’s Laboratory, Powerpuff Girls, Samurai Jack and Star Wars: Clone Wars. The dark romantic end to
Dracula’s love is well portrayed and at the same time the relationship between Mavis and Dracula helps majorly to sail this ship.
The animation is really good while 3D is bad at places. But the humor and expressions are super fine at times. One does not really get attached to any character except a little bit with Dracula or Mavis.
If you like cute animated movies with some humor and good visuals, check in to Hotel Transylvania this weekend and they’ll will make your stay worthwhile.
